EXTRACURRICULARÂ MAKING
There seems to always be something in-progress taking up 3-dimensional space on my project list. Materiality sometimes dictates a design, but more often, I find ways to make the material work for the idea I have. While the final works are sometimes more informal, the solutions remain complex, considered and intricate, indicative of my attention to detail and enthusiasm for problem solving.
CONVERTIBLE BENCH-BED
Bespoke Designed and Built Furniture Solution
Furniture should last and it should work for the specific space it occupies. This small room for my daughter needs to work as her bedroom and play space now, but also work as a future desk space in our 1917 craftsman house. These requirements needed a craftswoman solution to serve as a bench-bed that also provides storage and outlet access, and integrates the cold air return vent behind it. My design maximizes the space, and working with my father, the piece was constructed out of recycled church pews.

Bucky on Parade, Public Art Event
This design was selected from an open call for artist submissions, depicting Bucky Badger in a UW Marching Band uniform. Materials included acrylic paint, spray foam, wire, air dry clay, modeling clay, a dog chain, artificial flower pedals, and a lot of epoxy.

HOME SWEET HOME
Gingerbread Home Re-Models
These to-scale models of my 1917 craftsman home and my dream remodels of it highlight the craftsman details and maximize the usable space in a house that is only 1,086 SF total. The idealized modifications include custom millwork and a restructured floor plan that incorporates a new home office, fireplace, open staircase, galley kitchen, expanded bathroom, and an additional half-bath. The remodel is significantly more economical when executed in cookies, frosting, and candy.

Snow Sculpture
When the perfect snow falls, you make an elaborate snow sculpture of an epic Disney scene. It only was part of our world for about 12 hours before the weather warmed and she began her journey back to the sea.
EVERYTHING WISCONSIN
Commissioned Mural
The client requested a mural for their kids' climbing wall that highlighted some of their favorite Wisconsin features. The iterative process for creating and connecting the panels landed on a design featuring the Wisconsin state capitol, local fish, a family of badgers, a representational cardinal, foxes, a northwoods cabin with the Northern Lights.
