Illustrative work
CREATION BASED IN OBSERVATION
A wise science teacher once said, "The more you observe, the better you draw, and the more you draw, the better you observe". I believe that this applies to interior design as well. Being attentive to details and the impacts of space makes solutions more nuanced and customized to the experience of the people inhabiting the space. You grow attentive to light, shadow, and color, and can think ahead to the way something will be perceived as a whole.
ODIN
Acrylic Paint on Canvas
This was my first adventure in photorealism, and was given as a gift for a wedding. Fine tuning the detail helped train my eyes to notice subtle changes in hue, saturation, and value and the dynamic nature of light on different surfaces and textures. DEPICTIONS OF REALITY
Micron Marker Line Drawings
Translating real objects into black marks on a paper involves awareness of shadow, form, texture, and line weight. Working with only black and white often is made more real by knowing when not to draw a line and let the eye fill in the blanks.
DOG PORTRAITS
Acrylic Paint on Canvas
This design was selected from an open call for artist submissions, depicting Bucky Badger in a UW Marching Band uniform. Materials included acrylic paint, spray foam, wire, air dry clay, modeling clay, a dog chain, artificial flower pedals, and a lot of epoxy.
HAND DRAWING PRACTICE AND DESIGNS
Various Media
The Interior Architecture coursework included skills expansion for depicting 3-dimension on paper, and using imagery to convey a narrative or concept. I had manipulated many of these aspects previously, but greatly enjoyed expirimenting with decisive lines and varied line weights.
CAT PORTRAITS
Acrylic Paint on Canvas
Sometimes great ideas take time, iterations, and deep thought. Other times, they come from silly drawings on your phone that become commissions for wall art featuring beloved pets. Getting to capture the unique personalities of people's cats is joyful, yet still nuanced and precise.
ARTISTIC AND DESIGN WORK

My experience for creating 2 dimensional works goes beyond categories.
